Sometimes it really takes very little for the gaming community to explode with excitement. Bend studio found out about this when they posted a mysterious post on X last night. It doesn't contain any text, only a face emoji with a monocle. Fans took it as a suggestion that something big is coming.

Bend Studio is best known for Days Gone, and it is the announcement of its sequel that fans are expecting in the comments. Although some also point to the port of the original for the Xbox Series X/S consoles, and even to the return of the Syphon Filter series.

The studio didn't provide any details, but subtly teased the fans. One of the people posted a screenshot from Days Gone, which Bend Studio commented on with the words: "Nice shot." In response to the comment: "Please, tell me this is what I think it is," they replied:

If you think this is an emoji with a monocle, then yes, you are right.

It's possible that we'll only find the solution to the puzzle at one of the upcoming shows. The closest is gamescom Opening Night Live (August 18), but it's also possible that we will have to wait for the next Sony presentation (PlayStation Showcase?), which doesn't yet have a set date.

After the release of Days Gone, the sequel project was rejected by Sony. One of its most important new features was supposed to be the co-op mode. We also learned that the developers had planned not only a sequel, but an entire trilogy.

However, Sony had other plans and commissioned developers to create a live service game, which was supposed to be based on Days Gone. In the end, however, in January of this year, the project was canceled.

The team also worked on Days Gone Remastered, which was released in April. Unfortunately, a month later, we found out that 30% of the studio's employees had been laid off.
