Path of Exile 2 developers clarified the topic of resurrections on maps. The game will allow us to enter and leave them as often as we want.
One of the changes that the update Dawn of the Hunt will introduce to Path of Exile 2 is a softened penalty for death on maps. From version 0.2.0, the number of portals taking us to the map will increase, depending on the number of their modifiers. This means that the beginning of the endgame will become a bit easier. Now the devs have said more abut this.
Grinding Gear Games has published a special post on the game's website dedicated to portals, which explains a few extra issues. Some players noted that if we return to the safe place, for instance, to store items, we will lose one of the portals, even though we haven't died.
That's why, the developers have introduced the right change. The game will let us enter and exit maps as often as we want, as long as we don't die. Thanks to this, we can easily return to the safe house without worrying about the wasted portal.
Furthermore, the developers specified that when we return to the map after dying, we reappear at the last checkpoint. In this way, we will save time that we would otherwise spend running around an empty map. The exception is when we set up our own portal before dying - in that case, we will appear beside it.
The last change is an immediate respawn at the last checkpoint without any loading screen, as long as we have available revivals. However, the devs are not sure if they will be able to implement this solution by the release day, so it may be added to the game later. If this happens, we will be respawning in the hideout and returning to the map through the portal by then, which just takes a little more time.
GGG also published answers to the most frequently asked questions related to Dawn of the Hunt. Once again, it was confirmed that the new league will reset the economy, but it will function simultaneously with the standard one, where we will find all our characters.
This means that those interested can continue to use them, even though the developers suggest making new ones. It was mentioned that all the new content will be accessible in both the Dawn of the Hunt league and the standard league.
Among the less important details, it was revealed that users of the standalone game client can download the update a day before its release, the complete list of changes will be shared this week, and many items from the first installment's store will be added to the game.
Path of Exile 2 is available in early access on PC, PS5, and XSX/S. The Dawn of the Hunt update will be released next Friday (April 5th).
