Last night, the second season of Last Epoch started, which introduced many changes to the game. Fans who had to wait a long time for new content immediately started playing, thanks to which the title can boast good activity results.

Strong start of the second season

The second season was originally set to start in early April but was delayed due to the sudden announcement of the release date for the Dawn of the Hunt update to Path of Exile 2. The smaller product had to give way to the popular rival, which was somewhat disappointing for some players. However, Grinding Gear Games delivered this update, which further intensified the hunger of Last Epoch's fans.

We can now observe the effect on the activity charts. The second season, titled Tombs of the Erased, at its peak attracted just over 150,000 players simultaneously on Steam (via SteamDB).

It's over 100,000 worse than on day one, but also significantly higher than on the first season. The update was released on Thursday, so it's possible that the record will be broken this weekend.

The interest in returning to Last Epoch was so great that there were issues with the servers, as reported by Eleventh Hour Games on X. Some players had trouble starting the game in online mode. Fortunately, it seems that everything is currently running more smoothly.

We still have to wait a bit for the players' reviews of the new content. Many positive reviews appeared yesterday, but many people haven't yet completed the campaign, and the most important new features are only available in the endgame.

Hotfix 1.2.0.1

A few hours ago, EHG released the first hotfix for the second season. It removes four bugs.

  1. Performance issues caused by loot filter bugs and related user interface elements have been fixed.
  2. The bug that caused echoes not to be recognized as failures in some cases has been removed.
  3. The error has been fixed, due to which the keys from cycle stashes didn't go to the legacy stashes.
  4. The problem with echoes that didn't reduce rewards and monster density, and didn't properly adjust shrines during attempts, has been resolved.

Last Epoch is available exclusively on PC.
