Riot Games has revealed that the official title of Project L is 2XKO. A new action-packed trailer for the upcoming brawler, which will feature characters familiar from League of Legends, has been released.
Riot Games wants to bring together fans of the League of Legends universe and fighting games through a new game. Today, it was revealed that the title of the production, which was previously known as Project L, is 2XKO. While the name may not be very catchy, it reflects what the game will be about.
The devs also released a new, short video with gameplay fragments (below). Fans of the LoL universe will definitely recognize the characters in the video, who use spectacular attacks and finishers. The fights look quite spectacular, giving hope that 2XKO will be a worthy competitor to the most highly regarded games in this genre, particularly the Tekken, Street Fighter, and Mortal Kombat series.
Tom Cannon, the game's executive producer, spilled the beans about the upcoming fighting game. He stated that the team in charge of 2XKO has grown significantly in the past few months, indicating that title is truly a priority for Riot. Let's recall that there were large layoffs in the company in January.
We know that 2XKO will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in 2025 as a free-to-play game. However, according to Cannon, developers aim to collect as many player opinions as possible about the fighting game before its release. That's why the demo of the game will be available in different locations around the world (also during Evo Japan in April). In 2024, online tests of 2XKO will also take place, for which you can sign up on the game's website.
Below, you will find the most important info about 2XKO if you haven't been following the news so far.
Riot Games still develops popular League of Legends, Valorant, Teamfight Tactics, and Wild Rift. The company no longer plans to develop more games for single players, despite having released quite a few of them.
