New PS5 Firmware is Here; ALLM Support Added
PS5 has received an important update. The new feature it introduces is support for TVs that support ALLM technology. In addition, the update improves system performance.

The new PlayStation 5 update, numbered 22.01-05.50, in addition to the standard system performance improvements, introduces support and customizable ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode).
Like the previous one, the update weighs about 1 GB. Below you will find a description of changes.
- If you are using a TV that supports ALLM, you can configure it in [Settings], then [Screen and Video], followed by [Video Output], and finally [ALLM].
- If you select the [Automatic] setting, the TV will automatically switch to low-latency mode when starting games.
- When set to [Disable], the TV will only use ALLM in VRR (variable refresh rate) mode.
- This system software update improves system performance.
PlayStation 5 users are still waiting for other kinds of changes - e.g. things like the ability to group content in folders or set main menu themes.
During the PS4 era, many such options appeared later in the console's life cycle. So the same may be true here as well.
