PUBG: NEW STATE IN A NUTSHELL:
  • Developer: PUBG Studio
  • Genre: Shooter
  • Platforms: iOS , AND
  • Business model: Free-to-play
  • Release date: 2021

South Korean company Krafton announced PUBG: New State, a new mobile spin-off of the popular shooter game Playerunknown's Battlegrounds. The title is coming to iOS and Android devices and will use a free-to-play model with microtransactions. The release will take place this year and will be preceded by large-scale tests. Pre-registration has already started on Google Play.

The game is developed by PUBG Studio, the team responsible for the PC incarnation of the game. In the case of the popular PUBG Mobile, other studios owned by Tencent corporation, were responsible for the development. That's why we're curious how PUBG: New State will compare to the earlier mobile installment of the series.

The game is to be something different than another interpretation of the PC original. The devs want to return to the roots of the battle royale genre while offering newcomers a title that is the perfect introduction to the genre

Another feature distinguishing the game from Playerunknown's Battlegrounds will be the SF setting. PUBG: New State will be set in 2051. In combat we will use futuristic weapons, drones and gadgets such as energy shields. Weapons can be modified and improved during the matches, like in Apex Legends.

An additional attraction is a new map called Troy. What's more, the game is to greatly emphasize the story background, being an important part of the development of the franchise's universe.
