Race Transformations in AoW4

Transformation spells are very powerful, they give additional traits to your people. Of course, as in the case of other kinds of magic, you have to research proper tomes to cast them.

There are 2 types of this spell – minor and major. In the first case, you can cast as many of them, as you like. However, some are not compatible with each other (like Spawnkin and Supergrowth). In the case of major transformation spells, a race can have only one at a time, so think about it carefully.

To research tomes you need affinity. To get it, you need to pick proper traits when creating your own faction and carefully choose tomes (they give you affinity, too).

• Angelize – Tome of Exaltation (Order affinity)
• Attunement – Tome of Astral Convergence (Astral Affinity)
• Demonkin – Tome of the Demon Gate (Chaos Affinity)
• Gaia’s chosen – Tome of Paradise (Nature affinity)
• Wightborn – Tome of the great Transformation (Shadow Affinity)

Angelize – Tome of Exaltation (Order affinity)

Turns the target race into angelic beings, granting them:

1. The Celestial unit type.
2. Flying Movement – increases mobility.
3. Faithful – reduces Unit Upkeep.

Attunement – Tome of Astral Convergence (Astral Affinity)

Links the target race to the Astral Sea, granting them:

1. Pass Through – allows them to walk through obstacles.
2. +1 Mana and +1 Knowledge per Population.

Demonkin – Tome of the Demon Gate (Chaos Affinity)

Turns the target race into demonic beings, which grants them:

1. Demonkin – granting Burning immunity and faster movement on desolate.
2. Flying – increasing mobility.
3. Frenzy – increasing damage as they attack.

Gaia’s chosen – Tome of Paradise (Nature affinity)

Infuse the target race with the blessing of nature. They gain:

1. Charge Resistance – making them strong against Shock Units.
2. +3 Status Resistance.
3. +20 Hit Points.

Wightborn – Tome of the great Transformation (Shadow Affinity)

Gives the target race immortality beyond life, granting them:

1. The Undead unit type.
2. Life Steal – which restores Temporary Hit Points upon each attack.
