Resident Evil Village and Hood Among Steam Bestsellers

Last week Steam was dominated by the release of Resident Evil Village. Pre-orders of Hood: Outlaws & Legends and Mass Effect: Legendary Edition also sold very well.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. Excellent debut of Resident Evil Village;
  2. Good sales of Hood: Outlaws &Legends and Mass Effect: Legendary Edition pre-orders;
  3. Successful launch of new DLC for Arma III.

Valve released its weekly list of biggest Steam bestsellers (by revenue). There were some big changes in the list thanks to several highly anticipated launches.

No one will be surprised that debut of Resident Evil Village turned out to be a great success. The game took the first place on the bestseller list and sets containing the latest installment of the series along with Resident Evil VII: Biohazard appeared in the top ten twice. The game is held in high regard by Steam users - out of more than 12 thousand reviews as much as 94% are positive.

Resident Evil Village had the best debut on Steam in the history of the franchise. The activity record on release day amounted to 101,726 people. During the weekend it managed to improve a little - on Saturday the game reached 106,631 people playing at the same time.

Moreover, also creators of Hood: Outlaws Legends have reasons to be happy. Their work will debut today and its pre-orders took second place on the bestseller list, which bodes very well for the game's future. This is all the more impressive as the list is compiled by revenue, and the title will be available at a relatively low price.

Another successful debut was scored by the Arma III Creator: S.O.G. Prairie Fire DLC, which took the eighth spot. One place lower we can find pre-order Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, which shows that many people are waiting for the set. What's interesting is the appearance of NieR: Automata, which is probably the result of increased interest in the franchise caused by the recent release of NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139....

Among other interesting facts, it should also be noted that Valheim dropped out of the top 10 this week. This is a significant event, as the game has been present on Steam's bestseller lists every week since its early access debut in early February 2021.
