Today's launch of PlayStation VR 2 is undoubtedly one of the biggest gaming events we can hope for in 2023. Although it's a fairly specific category of fun that not everyone prefers, virtual reality devices are gaining more enthusiasts. To sustain the upward trend and encourage gamers to spend alomost $1000 on a headset, Sony needs to offer an equally impressive list of games available at launch.

The list originally counted 38 titles so far and included such titles as Gran Turismo 7 (VR update), Resident Evil Village (VR update) or Horizon: Call of the Mountain (an all-new installment of the popular brand). And now a compilation of games that are hitting the market today or will be released in a month at farthest has been expanded by another 10 items. Here they are:

  • Another Fisherman's Tale (2023) - A sequel to the award-winning game A Fisherman's Tale. The adventure takes the players on a journey through a surreal world full of imaginative locations and puzzles.
  • Gorn (March 16) - game by Free Lives that depicts gladiatorial combat. The title offers a variety of weapons, enemies and game modes for novice gladiators to defeat in the arena.
  • Nock: Bow + Arrow Soccer (March) - A mixture of different sports. Players can skate and fly around a pitch-like arena, while using a bow and arrow to knock the ball into the opponent's goal.
  • Hellsweeper VR (2023) - the work of the creators of Sairento VR and the publisher Arizona Sunshine, in which the familiar laws of physics do not exist, and movements that defy gravity become the new reality. As we play, we traverse various dimensions of hell, where we must master a wide range of weapons and elemental magic, all while discovering crazy moves that previously seemed impossible.
  • Ragnarock (February 22) - a game offering solo or multiplayer fun, in which we play the role of a Viking piloting a ship in a race through lands known from Norse mythology. Using his two hammers, we must crush incoming runes in sync with Viking music.
  • Runner (February 22) - An arcade styled after an anime from 1980s. We take part in futuristic motorcycle races, while shooting our opponents.
  • Startenders: Intergalactic Bartending (February 22) - in the game we play the role of a bartender having to serve hundreds of customers. A huge number of combinations of drinks to create and a competitive mode take care of diversifying the fun.
  • Sushi Ben (2023) - A narrative adventure game in which we must save a local sushi restaurant from collapse. However, first we need to get to know the townspeople in order to gain their trust.
  • Swordsman VR (February 22) - A realistic game focusing on sword fighting, pitting us against extremely fierce bosses. Duels with armored enemies, who can parry, dodge and respond to our attacks, can be rough.
  • Unplugged: Air Guitar (February 22) - In the game, we play the role of a musician who uses a virtual guitar to play the hits of greatest rock stars, including Ozzy Osbourne, The Offspring and Weezer.

This, in turn, is the list of previously revealed titles that will be playable on PS VR2:

  • After the Fall (Vertigo Games) - February 22

  • Zombieland: Headshot Fever Reloaded (XR Games)

Are these suggestions worth spending - let's not kid ourselves - not inconsiderable money on PS VR2? That's something you'll have to answer for yourself. Nevertheless, given the positive reviews of Sony's headset so far, it's worth to at least consider buying it - if not now, then maybe in the future, when the list of games will grow a bit more, and the price will (hopefully) drop.
