Rockstar is Sick of Poeple Mentioning GTA 6 and Mutes Comments on YouTube

It looks like Rockstar Games is tired of people constantly mentioning GTA 6, so the phrase has been muted on the studio's YouTube channel.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • Rockstar muted certain phrases in comments under videos on its YouTube channel;
  • It's about issues relating to GTA 6;
  • Interestingly, only some variants of the pharese using the title were blocked.

Although years pass since the release of GTA 5, Rockstar Games is still busy developing this installment. However, fans of the series are waiting for the next part and increasingly loudly demand its announcement. This is fostered by the omnipresent rumors and leaks about the hypothetical GTA 6.

As you can see, apparently this situation has started to be tiring even for the studio. As it turns out, some phrases related to the new installment have been muted on the company's official channel on YouTube. This was first noticed by a Twitter user by the handle Not_StrangeMan.

Limitation of discussion on GTA 6 coincided with further rumors about the game surfacing on the web. ThatSoBold profile dealing with pop culture topics informed that the next part of the series will be announced at the turn of November and December this year. The action of the game is to be set in Miami. As it often happens in the case of such rumors, the credibility of the leak is practically zero. However, it was enough to spark enthusiasm among the most ardent fans.

Not_StrangeMan published a comment under one of the old videos on Rockstar's channel, the content of which was just "GTA 6”. When he logged into the website using a different account, it turned out that the comment was invisible to him. This would suggest that the user received a so-called shadow ban.

However, it quickly turned out that this is associated with specific phrases that were automatically hidden. What's interesting, Rockstar Games did not mute all possible terms referring to the game. It is impossible to publish a comment with "GTA 6" in the content, but "GTA VI" will slip past the radar. So it's hard to know what the purpose of the studio's actions was.

Nevertheless, the theory that Rockstar Games wants to limit discussion of the sixth installment of Grand Theft Auto seems to be the most probable. Growing expectations of the players may turn out to be a big problem when the studio will actually reveal the project. Limiting speculation should be to the developers' advantage.
