Sengoku Dynasty - Roadmap for 2023

If you are interested in medieval Japan, Sengoku Dynasty may be something for you. The game throws a player into one of Japanese Islands, where they have to survive by crafting tools and building villages. The title is a mix of several genres such as survival, open-world RPG, city builder and life simulator. Sengoku Dynasty’s Early Access roadmap, Developer: Superkami

The developers from Superkami have outlined their plans for the near future.

1. The “First Steps” that they would like to take is to collect players’ feedback and address their concerns by implementing bugfixes and providing quality-of-life improvements. There already have been some bugfixes released. On August 11th, there was a small patch fixing “Herbs for Mata” quest. The next update is scheduled for August 14th.
2. In the next phase, which they called “Planting Seeds”, they would like to focus on a big content updates. In those, they expect to add an agriculture system to the title. Alongside farming, they would like to add a new NPC village and more quests.
3. Following that, in “Personal Growth” stage, Superkami intends to center on the player’s character by including perks, status effects, and spirituality. The last one is expected to introduce more shrine variety increasing options for player’s progression.
4. “Hero’s Journey” period will be the one in which the developers want to widen starting classes options and allow players to play as a female character.
5. Further down the road the creators are planning to increase combat complexity, adding new weapons, enemies, fighting techniques, and introducing random events. Violence will not only be the only option to tackle hardships, as Superkami states they are also working on advanced economy, NPC variety, and even romance as well as improved family interactions.
6. After achieving their initial goals, the game is planned to be enlarged by 2 new regions featuring more storylines, villages, and quests, but also new biomes. Next development plans include enabling players to create their own production lines and more.

Keep in mind that game production is an advanced and convoluted process. Many things may change down the road, and the developers have informed that they would like to take players’ suggestions into account which may complicate the process even further.
