In the text summarizing the June Xbox Games Showcase, Microsoft shared a mention regarding the upcoming gamescom 2023, in which it announced that the scale of the Xbox booth is expected to eclipse everything the Redmond giant has presented so far in Cologne.

As learned by Insider Gaming from its sources, at the Cologne event Microsoft is expected to provide a number of playable demos of upcoming games, and one of them will be the highly anticipated S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. Also presented will be items such as Forza Motorsport and Towerborne.

Bumpy road to premiere

It is worth recalling that the Ukrainian studio GSC Game World, the devs of the original trilogy, is again working on the new installment of the iconic series. Although the return of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. brand was heralded as early as 2018, the ongoing war and hacker attacks effectively hinder the ambitious plans of the developers.

The relocation of part of the team to Prague enabled the studio to refocus on the project. At the moment premiere ofS.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is planned for this year (the game will appear on PC and Xbox Series X/S consoles).. It remains to be hoped that the final stretch will prove to be free of unforeseen obstacles for GSC Game World, and that following gamescom 2023 gamers will have the opportunity to see the latest installment of the beloved brand in action (or even play it, if they go to Cologne).
