Star Wars Eclipse to Launch in a Few Years - Quantic Dream Faces Problems

We may be able to play Star Wars Eclipse only in a few years. Devs at Quantic Dream allegledly has problems with the game engine and finding proper employees.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. According to rumors, the release of Star Wars Eclipse may not happen for several years;
  2. The reason is studio's problems with the engine and finding the right staff.

We may even be a few years away from the release of Star Wars Eclipse. Known from leaks about the Battlefield series, Tom Henderson shared on Twitter some unofficial information about the announced Star Wars game. One of them is the expected release date, which is unlikely to take place sooner than in 3-4 years. Unless the title gets delayed along the way.

According to Henderson's reports one of the biggest challenges faced by Quantic Dream's Paris office (which oversees the core development) is the unsuitable open-world action engine, which the studio's previous games were powered by. A big obstacle may also be a huge problem with finding the necessary staff. At the moment the Paris branch of the studio has more than 60 vacancies and Montreal branch - nine.

Another interesting fact is that David Cage is heavily involved in writing the script, which will certainly make fans of his talent happy. Nothing is known about other people involved in the plot of Star Wars Eclipse, which, what is worth remembering, is set in the times of the Great Republic.
