Star Wars Hunters Announced on Switch

During the Nintendo Direct, the company revealed Star Wars: Hunters, a multiplayer battle game, in which we will control new characters from the Star Wars universe.

STAR WARS: HUNTERS IN A NUTSHELL:
  • Developer: BossAlien
  • Publisher: Zynga
  • Genre: battle game
  • Platforms: Switch, iOS, AND
  • Release Date: 2021

One of the titles revealed during the Nintendo Direct presentation turned out to be Star Wars : Hunters, an online battle game set in the Star Wars universe. The game will use the free-to-play model with microtransactions, and the release will take place this year.

The game is coming not only to Nintendo Switch, but also iOS and Android mobile devices. The project will offer a cross-platform option, enabling owners of different hardware platforms to play together.

Information about the game is very limited. We know only that Star Wars: Hunters will enable us to fight battles in special arenas. The game is to offer new characters and locations that did not appear in previous incarnations of the franchise. That's the end of available details. We do not even know whether it will be a strategy or an arcade game.

BossAlien, a studio belonging to the NaturalMotion group, is working on the game and previously worked on such games as CSR Racing and CSR Classics. The publisher is to be Zynga, known for the FarmVille series. This is interesting because the license agreement providing Electronic Arts with exclusive rights to Star Wars games will expire in 2023. Apparently, both companies came to an agreement, so Star Wars: Hunters will debut this year.
