Starfield is Bethesda's eagerly awaited massive RPG, for which you have to pay at least $70 (unless you are a Game Pass subscriber). For this reason, gamers would probably want to have an idea of the game's condition before buying it and find out whether it's really worth their time and money. Critics' reviews will be helpful in this regard, as they will be able to examine Starfield before its release. When can we expect the first reviews?

According to a number of people in the game industry (including Tom Warren from The Verge or Shinobi602 from Wushu Studios), the embargo on Starfield reviews will be lifted on August 31 at 6 p.m. CET / 9 a.m. PST. This means that it will be possible to publish content from the game from that point on. The first reviews will start appearing right then.

Critics should have quite some time to get acquainted with the game. As reported by well-known insider Tom Henderson, review copies of Starfield are expected to be sent out later this week. Thus, the reviews published on August 31 will be based on almost two weeks of experience.

Recall that yesterday Bethesda informed that Starfield has gone gold, and thus should be ready for release. Those interested in the game can already install it as part of the preload on Xbox and from Microsoft Store on PCs.

Starfield will debut on September 6 on Xbox Series X/S consoles and PCs. Those who have decided to preorder the premium edition of the game will be able to play the game up to five days before the release - which means the day after the publication of the first reviews. PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be able to play Starfield on the day of its debut.
