Starfield Will Randomly Generate Extensive Quests; New Details

We've learned more details about Starfield. They show that random quests will be more extensive than in previous Bethesda games and companions will play a bigger role in our adventures.

We learned new details about Starfield. Will Chen, acting chief quest designer, talked about the title in a new video (available below). From the information revealed by the developer, it appears that the thorough changes (compared to the studio's previous games) will be made to, among others, the quest generation system and companions (via PCGamesN).

If you are curious about the new features we will find in Starfield, here are some of the more interesting details.

  1. Random tasks will be more extensive and varied. Unlike previous Bethesda games, this time such quests will not be limited to single NPCs encountered in the wilderness. Instead we will encounter entire procedurally generated locations, such as undergrounds and settlements, whose inhabitants will ask us for help.
  2. During the game - as part of the main thread - we will travel to our solar system and discover what happened to Earth.
  3. The story lines for each faction have been designed to be independent of each other. As a result, it will be possible to complete them all in a single playthrough. However, we will not be able to stand at the head of every faction.
  4. Companions will play a bigger role in the gameplay. During the adventure they will be able to actively participate in conversations and even solve various problems for us, if we ask them to do so. They will also help with small jobs on the ship, such as carrying supplies.

From the above description, we can conclude that Starfield is actually a typical Bethesda game, only with a number of improvements. We will find out how it will look in practice after the release, which will take place next year, on PC and XSX/S (also in Game Pass).
