The rumors have been confirmed - Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League has been delayed again. And by as much as 252 days.
We've been waiting a long time for confirmation of the rumors, but it's finally happened - the devs of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League have announced that the game's release has been delayed from this May all the way to February 2, 2024. This is yet another postponement for the project, which was originally scheduled for release as early as 2022.
The first rumors of another delay appeared in early March. At the time, journalist Jason Schreier claimed, that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League would be released at the end of this year. In addition, it was not supposed to be related to the negative reception of the gameplay presented at the State of Play. The video sparked considerable outrage among the fans, disappointed that it would be a live-service game focusing on cooperative gameplay and requiring a continuous Internet connection even when playing solo.
A few days after the appearance of the information provided by Schreier, another well-known journalist, Jeff Grubb, reported, that the delay will be even greater. According to Grub, the release of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was not due until 2024. And as you can see, he was not wrong.
It is quite unusual that a specific release date has been set for a game, which is expected to be released 9 months later than previously planned (the earlier date was May 26, 2023). As the developers of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League wrote:
Do the above words and such a big delay indicate that Rocksteady has, however, listened to the opinion of fans who wanted something closer to the Batman: Arkham series and not a repetitive live-service game? What direction will the gameplay in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League take and whether it will change at all (Jason Schreier suggested that the delay has to do not with the reactions of Internet users to the gameplay, but with the technical condition of the game), we will probably find out from new promotional materials that will be released in the future.
