Super Mario Bros. Movie is Now Second Highest-grossing Animation and Goes for the Record

The animated screen adaptation of the adventures of Nintendo's mascot has captured the hearts of viewers. Super Mario Bros. Movie has already achieved an impressive score, and it looks like the production continues its march for the record. The task, however, is not easy, and it all depends on the viewers and whether they are willing to come to theaters to watch one of the best movie adaptations of a video game to date (via Collider).

At the moment Super Mario Bros. Movie has earned $1.288 billion and thus has become the second best animated movie in terms of box office performance. So far, this position belonged to Frozen with a score of $1.284 billion. As you can see, the competitor has only just been surpassed, and Mario and his friends are still a little short of first place.

To claim the first place on the record podium, Super Mario Bros. Movie Must surpass the $1.45 billion mark. Such a result was achieved by Frozen 2, which only shows how much the adventures of Anna and Elsa appealed to the audience. Although the task seems difficult, the record may be within reach.
