Tacoma – New Details About the Space Adventure Game From the Creators of Gone Home

Game Informer published some new details concerning Tacoma – a new game from the creators of Gone Home. The game is set in 2088 and the players will take control of Amy Ferrier – a space station worker.

At the end of 2014 The Fullbright Company studio, known for Gone Home, disclosed their new project – the first person adventure game Tacoma. Other than that, not much has been said at the time. For further details we’ll have to wait for the August issue of Game Informer, which will include a more comprehensive announcement. However, there is some new information available on the Game Informer’s website right now. Tacoma’s story will be set in year 2088. The players will take control of Amy Ferrier, a new worker coming aboard a space station orbiting somewhere between the Earth and the Moon. Sadly, there will be no time to enjoy the view since the first thing Amy sees after arrival is the absence of her soon-to-be coworkers. To help her solve this mystery, she will have to rely on a single, and maybe not quite trustworthy, partner – the station computer ODIN.

Tacoma in short:
  • Genre: FPP adventure;
  • Developer: The Fullbright Company;
  • Gaming platforms: PC, XOne;
  • Release date: 2016;
  • Other: story set on a space station.

The gameplay will focus on exploration and uncovering the mystery. Since the story is set on a space station, players will be given the ability to change character’s perspective while searching for passages and items on what used to be ceiling, for example. Simultaneously, through the course of the game, we will be finding recordings that will provide pieces of information about the events that had befallen the place before our arrival.

By the looks of it, we can expect a profoundly plot-centric game. Maybe something akin to the mentioned earlier Gone Home, Dear Esther of perhaps The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. Either way, we’re gonna have to wait some time to find out. The game is set for release in 2016 for PC and Xbox One.
