More NFTs! Team17 Announces Worms NFTs and Promises Environmental Friendliness

Another company has noticed the potential benefits of NFTs. This time we are talking about the creators of the Worms series, Team17.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • Team17 is entering the NFT market;
  • The company will sell digital objects related to the Worms series;
  • They are supposed to be environmentally friendly.

Not only Ubisoft sees great potential in NFTs. Team17, the studio known to players primarily from the Worms series, also wants a slice of this cake. The company has decided to issue its own tokens associated with this popular series. However, in contrast to the competition, they are to be harmless to the environment.

The NFTs will be sold by Reality Gaming Group, which claims that the energy cost of 100,000 tokens of this kind will equal the average energy consumption of kettles in eleven households. Unfortunately, it has not been revealed how this conversion rate actually works. It is not even known whether it is a yearly, monthly, or perhaps daily consumption of these devices.

Part of the income from the sale of NFTs will be donated to Coin 4 Planet. The organization's target will be to recycle food waste with the help of more than 6 million worms, which will prevent the emission of about 5400 tons of CO2 per year. That is, of course, if the money can be raised.

Unfortunately, only one of the digital projects inspired by the Worms series was shown. On the metaworms.live website we can see an example of an object that will be available for purchase. We will also find the address of the Discord server, where more information about Team17's project will appear in the future.
