Tenet, Wonder Woman, Matrix 4 and Several Other Movies Delayed

The coronavirus has caused the very long list of this year's premieres to be postponed to following years. Warner Bros has already issued official announcements concerning individual titles.

Tenet will be two weeks late.

Let's start with some good news. Or rather, not-as-bad ones. Christopher Nolan's Tenet will premierea few days later than expected, not on the 17, but on the 31 of July. From the beginning, the director insisted on keeping the premiere date, because he absolutely wanted it to be one of the first films to be seen on the big screen after a difficult period of the world pandemic.

Everyone's favorite Keanu Reeves was also hit hard. Just a few months ago, we were glad that two of the films starring the actor - Matrix 4 and John Wick 4 - will be released on the same day, i.e. May 21, 2021. The reality turned out to be much more brutal. The Wachowski sisters' film will not be released until April 1, 2022, and the fourth part of the characteristic neo-noir action movie will suffer over a year of delay, as the new premiere date is given as May 27, 2022.

The gap after the above two works will be filled happily by the remaining pushbacks. The highly anticipated monster movie Godzilla vs. Kong, the fourth film from the MonsterVerse universe after the reboot of Godzilla, Kong: Skull Island, and Godzilla II: The King of Monsters will gladly jump in its place. The initial premiere was to take place in November this year.

Even superhero cinema has not been spared. When Marvel is ready to launch Black Widow's promotional campaign, DC is officially moving its Wonder Woman 1984. The title was to be available for viewing during the upcoming summer holidays, on August 14. Ultimately, however, the studio will release its work almost a month and a half later, on October 2.

The remaining victims of the coronavirus may not be as popular and important for Warner Bros.' wallet. Robert Zemeckis' fantasy comedy, The Witches, will not debut in October, but in an unspecified quarter of 2021, and another version of Tom and Jerry, combining elements of animation with live action, will be released on March 5 2021, not during winter Holidays, as previously planned.
