The Banner Saga 2 Survival Mode comes as a free update

Survival Mode was added to The Banner Saga 2, a turn-based RPG set in a Viking fantasy world. In it, your team of heroes will be battle-tested against increasingly difficult waves of enemies.

The latest game update for The Banner Saga 2 added Survival Mode, which puts you up against 40 rounds of increasingly difficult combat. Before you start fighting, you must build a team of 6 heroes from all characters available. However, if one of them dies in combat, they’re gone for the remaining battles. On the other hand, victories grant you Renown points, which you can use to recruit new heroes to replace the fallen ones or purchase new gear. In order to increase the pace of gameplay a 30-second timer for each turn was added.
