Dark Fear, a Myst meets King's Quest horror adventure, goes live on Steam

Steam users have received their version of Dark Fear, which is an oldschool horror adventure with RPG elements. The game resembles such classics as Myst or Sierra's King's Quest.

Critically acclaimed mobile horror Dark Fear by Arif Games has made it to Steam, where you can get it for just $3.99. At its core this is an oldschool horror point-and-click adventure game reminiscent of Myst or Sierra’s classics, such as the original King’s Quest. Apart from typical “point-and-click” activities, Dark Fear also features RPG-like combat and progression system. The game lets you explore diverse locations, interact with NPCs, upgrade your weapon and armor, solve puzzles, and even go hunting or fishing.

The plot of Dark Fear is all about mystery. You wake up locked inside a small cabin somewhere in the woods with no knowledge of who you are and how you got here. Your task is to get outside and unravel the sinister secret of this place. Learn more about the game from this Dread Central interview with the developer.

As you must have already noticed, Dark Fear features really old-looking 2D pixel-art graphics and a matching soundtrack – the PC version offers improved audio quality over the mobile version. Here are some screenshots:
