The End of Windows? Microsoft's Vision of Modern OS

Microsoft presented its vision of a modern operating system. Among other things, the software should be secure, always connected to the network and updated in a way the user won't notice.

Microsoft is looking to the future.

A MODERN OS ACCORDING TO MICROSOFT:

  1. Efficient and secure;
  2. Updating in the background;
  3. Connected to the network;
  4. Integrated into the cloud and using AI;
  5. Offering a range of accessibility features;
  6. flexible.

During Computex 2019 in Taiwan, Microsoft presented its vision of a modern operating system. The topic was also discussed in an extensive blog note. What will characterize the OS of the future?

First of all, it should be a software that will always be updated to the latest version, because the patches will be downloaded in the background and you will never need to restart your computer. This is one of the reasons why the system will offer high level of security, protecting the user from various digital threats. Not without significance is also the fact that the OS is to be permanently connected to the network, strongly integrated with the cloud, and use the benefits of AI.

"With a modern OS Wifi, LTE 5G will just work – and users never have to worry about a deadspot," said Nick Parker, Corporate Vice President, Consumer and Device Sales, on the company's blog.

The company also wants the software to always offer optimal performance regardless of factors such as the time that has passed since the installation or commissioning of the hardware, or battery life. In addition, the system will offer a number of options to make it easier to use, such as control with pen, voice, touch or sight, and work with a wide range of different devices and applications.

These seem to be more than just empty promises - it cannot be ruled out that the company is working on a new OS, perhaps even created from scratch. If so, the system does not have a name yet (not even the word Windows - the program is referred to only as "modern operating system"), so it is unlikely to be expected in the near future.
