The Witcher 3 Next Gen Boxed Edition Soon in Stores

Yesterday, news of a likely boxed edition of the next-gen The Witcher 3 emerged, and today CD Projekt RED confirmed the revelations.

The Witcher 3 Next Gen will be released in a boxed edition, which will hit the stores soon. The first information about the release of the next-gen The Witcher 3 in physical edition appeared on the website of online store Ultima.pl [in Polish]

Today we received confirmation from CD Projekt RED.

The new Witcher in the box

Yesterday, The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt Complete Edition appeared in the offer of the online store. It includes such elements as as:

  • The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt,
  • Hearts of Stone & Blood and Wine expansions + 16 DLCs,
  • stickers,
  • map,
  • The Witcher Universe: Compendium.

Today, information about the release of the boxed Complete Edition was confirmed by Radek Grabowski of CD Projekt RED (via Eurogamer [in Polish]):

"The box will include a disc with the base game, as well as the Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine DLCs. In addition, the set will include all official DLCs and enhancements released over the past seven years."

The version for current-gen devices includes a number of visual and technical improvements, including real-time ray tracing, faster loading times, an integrated wide selection of community-created mods and much more. The box will include only the aforementioned disc.

Both the retail price and the exact date of the game's availability will ultimately depend on local retailers in specific territories.

So from Grabowski's words, it seems that the goodies from the set that appeared in the store are not part of the next-gen edition, but an initiative of the store itself. The launch of The Witcher 3 Next Gen "in the box" is scheduled for the end of January, this year.
