Larian Studios was almost certain to have fixed the known bug in Baldur's Gate 3 this time around. However, it only took a few days for it to return.
The beloved bug from Patch 8 of Baldur’s Gate 3 has come back to life, despite the efforts of Larian studio.
Last week it seemed that players would have to say goodbye to the quirky character portraits. This bug has been around since the beginning of the game (via Reddit), but for some people, it became especially noticeable after the release of the latest, eighth major update to Baldur's Gate 3 in mid-April - causing the character portraits to display strangely.
At the end of July, Larian Studios released a small patch for BG3. The list of implemented changes also included fixing this very defect. The Zoom bug (from messenger to video calls - or rather, people who had a similar problem with framing when using this program) seemed to be a thing of the past.
Unfortunately for Baldur's Gate fans, this bug turns out to be as resilient as a cockroach. Not a week had passed when players noticed more cases of this glitch in the new version of the game (via Reddit).
Truth be told, the players aren't surprised. Larian itself wrote in the latest announcement that he had "probably definitely" fixed the problem this time. Fans are more amused by both the vitality of this bug and the funny framing of characters, which in some places just begs for a new meme to be made.
