Lara Croft Returns in New Netflix Show; Trailer for New Animated Tomb Raider
Lara Croft will get her own animated show on Netflix. The streaming giant has unveiled the first trailer for the series, which will continue the popular franchise.
Netflix unveiled the first trailer for its new animated show: Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft. The series will focus on the adventures of famed treasure hunter Lara Croft as she traverses uncharted territories in search of legendary artifacts. As in the video game series, adventure and supernatural elements will mix as the heroine discovers spells, curses and legends during her journey.
In Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft the voice of the protagonist is provided by Hayley Atwell known from Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 1. The animation is expected to tie together the original Tomb Raider games and those from the new trilogy, which got its start in 2013.
The series was announced in 2021 and will follow the events of the rebooted video game trilogy. The trailer hints at the appearance of characters from the games. In the shared footage, Lara looks at a framed photo of the group, which includes fisherman Jonah Maiava (Earl Baylon).
Premiere of Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft on Netflix is scheduled for 2024.. Thus, the show will join the numerous video game adaptations on the platform. As of today, you can watch Castlevania: Nocturne and new Devil May Cry is in preparation.
