Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 on Long, Brutal Gameplay; Beta Announced
A new, long and brutal gameplay of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II has seen the light of day. As if to mark the occasion, Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive announced the game's beta tests.
Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment have released a lengthy gameplay from Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II. The video footage enables us to see how the main character, Lieutenant Titus, traverse monumental ruins and face a fierce battle with Tyranid hordes, whom he deals with in spectacular, brutal ways.
In addition, the publisher has announced that the game in question will soon see beta testing. Singups are ongoing on the game's official website.
As you can see, in the described game the protagonist will hold a lower military rank than was the case in the first installment of the series, as dictated by the events of the prequel game.
- According to information from the Warhammer 40,000 Wiki, the decision was necessitated by the desire to be consistent with the official canon, in which the 2nd Ultramarines Company was not commanded by Captain Titus, but by Captain Cato Sicarius.
- Sticking to this explanation, one can conclude that the events of the first game took place in an alternate universe, where Captain Titus was in charge of this company.
- Another trail is followed by Reddit users. According to some, Titus from the second game... is not the same Titus as the protagonist of the first installment.
- Still others, on the other hand, point out the existence of a short break in chronology between the episodes of Severus Agemman's and Sicarius' command, during which Captain Titus could have been the commander of the 2nd Ultramarines Company without disrupting the official canon.
