Wartales Exploration Modes - Adaptive or Region Locked

If you are wondering about the exploration mode in Wartales, this guide will be of assistance. We will tell you what characterizes the mode with and without scaling.

Wartales is a tactical game with RPG elements. This title recently came out in version 1.0 and attracted the attention of thousands of fans. Already at the very start the game poses difficult questions that will affect the gameplay. One of them is the one concerning exploration modes. Many players are wondering what they should choose - scaling or not. In this guide we will advise you.

Region-locked Exploration

By choosing this option, some regions will be more difficult and others will be easier. This means that you will have to go through them in a certain order. Otherwise, you may run into an impregnable wall in the form of high-level enemies with better equipment. However, this also has its advantages, because by choosing this mode you will feel your progression more clearly.

Adaptive Exploration

This is a good option especially for players, who already played Wartales. It enables you to go to any region at the very beginning, and the game will adjust the level of opponents to yours. However, it also has its downsides - it is much harder to feel "powerful", and the progress of the party becomes less noticeable.

Wartales - exploration locked or not

  1. If you expect a higher level of difficulty, then choose adaptive. All battles become a challenge, however, many players find that it can be too much. In addition, you must also prepare for much longer battles. This is an option for those who want to focus on tactical skirmishes..
  2. A region-locked game does not require you to master the combat, as you can simply gain experience in fighting weaker opponents in if you need more levels. In this mode, the adventure is definitely more oriented to the RPG aspects. However, this option forces you to "clear" land after land, as returning to a weaker region after a long time can cause boredom (or a feeling of satisfaction, depending on the player).
