Can’t crack “Crescent-shaped and golden brown” in Cookie Jam? Let’s figure this out together.
After solving “Feathers, wings, hollow bones” in Cookie Jam, we’re back to food-related Buzzwords. The clues “Cousin to apples & roses,” and “Fruity, cold & dairy free!” are already behind us, and now it’s time to tackle the next one: “Crescent-shaped & golden brown.” If you’re struggling to crack it on your own, here’s a little help.
This clue could have many possible answers, especially since there's no clear indication that it's related to food. Fortunately, we don’t have to choose from the entire alphabet. Otherwise, solving it would be nearly impossible:
A croissant is a rich, buttery, flaky pastry that is instantly recognizable by its signature crescent shape. While most closely associated with French cuisine, the croissant actually traces its roots back to Austria, where it began as the kipferl. It was later introduced to France, where bakers refined the recipe and techniques, ultimately transforming it into the delicate, multi-layered pastry we know and love today.
Croissants are made with laminated dough. This involves folding butter into the dough multiple times to create thin layers. They are crispy and golden on the outside, soft and airy inside. Typically eaten for breakfast or as a snack, sometimes plain or filled with chocolate, almond paste, or ham and cheese. The name comes from the French word for “crescent.”

Been with gamepressure.com since 2019, mostly writing game guides but you can also find me geeking out about LEGO (huge collection, btw). Love RPGs and classic RTSs, also adore quirky indie games. Even with a ton of games, sometimes I just gotta fire up Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, KOTOR, or Baldur's Gate 2 (Shadows of Amn, the OG, not that Throne of Bhaal stuff). When I'm not gaming, I'm probably painting miniatures or admiring my collection of retro consoles.
