Not sure how to answer “Side cabbage dish” in Cookie Jam? Let’s solve it together.
The weekend’s finally here, and you know what that means – time for a fresh set of Buzzwords in Cookie Jam. First, we had “Au on the periodic table,” then “Cook with water vapor,” followed by “Cotton candy, red globe, concord.” Now we’ve reached the next challenge: “Side cabbage dish.” If you’re feeling stuck, don’t worry, I’m here to help you solve it.
Not going to lie, this one was pretty tricky, especially since it’s a long word. But I finally cracked it, so without further ado:
Coleslaw is a salad made primarily from shredded raw cabbage, often mixed with carrots and dressed with a creamy mayonnaise-based sauce or a tangy vinegar-based dressing. It’s commonly served as a side dish, especially with barbecues, fried foods, or even sandwiches.
There are different variations. Some are sweet, some are more tangy or spicy. It’s crunchy, refreshing, and a classic “side cabbage dish”.
Coleslaw has roots going back to ancient times, but the dish as we know it today originated in Netherlands. The term “coleslaw” comes from the Dutch word koolsla, which means “cabbage salad.” Early recipes were often simple: shredded cabbage, vinegar, oil, and spices. The creamy mayonnaise-based version became popular later in the 20th century.

Been with gamepressure.com since 2019, mostly writing game guides but you can also find me geeking out about LEGO (huge collection, btw). Love RPGs and classic RTSs, also adore quirky indie games. Even with a ton of games, sometimes I just gotta fire up Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, KOTOR, or Baldur's Gate 2 (Shadows of Amn, the OG, not that Throne of Bhaal stuff). When I'm not gaming, I'm probably painting miniatures or admiring my collection of retro consoles.
