If lately, your game rotation has been lacking freshness and opportunities for relaxation - here's the announcement of an independent MMO, due later this year. WorldShards definitely stands out from other games with its enchanted world and the various challenges it offers.

When MMORPG meets life sim

Studio L1523kick Games doesn't have any games to its credit yet, but its members plan to debut with a bang. WorldShards is their ambitious project attempting to combine the genres of MMORPG, sandbox and life simulator, generating an unconventional challenge..

The exact release date has not yet been announced, but a full-fledged release is expected in late 2024. Already now, however, the possibility has been made available to register for the beta tests, which are expected to be available in the fourth quarter of this year.

According to announcements so far, WorldShards is expected to give us almost complete freedom of gameplay. For example, active players are to be able to take part in battles with fantastic beasts, when their companions will in parallel devote themselves to cooking or fishing.

  • The game's loose plot is to take us to a world made up of flying islands, the harmony of which has been shattered after the appearance of brutal monsters. As players, our task is to restore it to its former glory.
  • The game is supposed to not set us specific tasks, giving us the freedom to choose our own challenges and not have a levelling system - specific skills are to be developed in parallel to each other.
  • Thanks to a teleportation system, we will be able to move to variedly generated worlds. During their exploration we will find, among other things, raw materials to mine, puzzles to solve, fights with minor opponents and vosses, and a mass of land to develop for buildings or crops.
  • We can choose from as many as 7 basic character roles: warrior, fisherman, builder, farmer, cook, animal tamer and Meowkle - an indigenous feline inhabitant of the island.
  • The combat system seems to be promisingly developed, depending on our choice of weapons and armor, and incorporating various tactics, including surprise attacks and group clashes.
  • The game's economy is to be based on the possibility of crafting items from captured resources and exchanges between players. The developers want to give us the opportunity to build a reputation as expert traders, but also to survive independently on our own acquisitions and creations.
  • WorldShards is to be enjoyable solo or by forming a kind of guild with other players. The aspect of working together for a common goal is to serve as one of the game's basic objectives, and possible PvP battles are to be available only in limited parts of the map (which, of course, we don't have to visit).

Based on this description, WorldShards seems to be a universal game, created for groups of friends who find it hard to find a title that meets their personal needs, and for people who have not had experience with MMO games before.

WorldShards - minimum requirements for PC

  • Operating system: Windows 10 (64-bit)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-8400
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • Disk space: 60 GB
  • Other: DirectX 11

The minimum requirements provided by the developers do not yet have a suggested graphics card, and the recommended requirements are not yet available.
