Wuthering Waves is a new open world RPG with gacha system. The title debuted today and is immensely popular among players. However, not all of them are happy with technical aspects. Many people report lags or Fatal Errors. However, some of fans point towards settings, and more precisely at FPS cap. Many of them were expecting 120 FPS mode, as it used to be in the game earlier, but it is nowhere to be found. Apparently, there is a good reason for that.

Why Wuthering Waves (WuWa) has no 120 FPS option

Many fans feel betrayed that there is no 120 FPS option in Wuthering Waves, despite the fact that it used to be. However, don’t be discouraged by this fact. On the official Discord, it is possible to find an explanation of that. Fans who have taken part in Closed Beta Test 2 informed that developers temporarily removed this option due to technical problems, but it will be back. Apparently, the announcement was:

Currently, the game is known to occasionally glitch in 120 fps mode on the PC. While the dev team is solving the problem, this feature will be unavailable during the period. We will inform you when this feature is available in future updates. Thanks for your patience and support.

So, as you can see, it does not disappeared without the trace. Most likely, 120 FPS will be back at some point after release. We don’t know when yet, so we have to observe closely official channels. We need to remember that the game has been just released, so developers have probably a lot to do right now and 120 FPS mode may not to be their priority.
