Phil Spencer Praises Steam Deck - It's a Really Nice Device

After testing the Steam Deck, Phil Spencer, the head of the Xbox brand, praised the device. This coincided with the release of the platform's first ad.

IN A NUTSHELL

  1. Phil Spencer, the executive vice-president of Gaming at Microsoft, spoke highly of Valve's new device.
  2. According to him, the Steam Deck did well by running Halo and Age of Empires.
  3. The tweet of the head of the Xbox brand coincided with the release of the hardware's first commercial.

Steam Deck is definitely something to look out for. This statement seems to be confirmed by the head of the Xbox brand. After visitng Valve's headquarters, Phil Spencer received his own console and tested it for the majority of the week. In his tweet, hespoke highly of Valve's new hardware.

Phil Spencer thinks that the Steam Deck is "a really nice device". The Xbox brand boss had the opportunity to test the new soncole by playing Halo and Age of Empires. He praised the screen and controllers, and stated that the cloud gaming service from Xbox, the xCloud, works quite well.

It should be noted that in a recent interview with GamesRadar Phil Spencer did not rule out collaboration with "closed platforms" (such as Nintendo Switch and PS5), as long as they will offer a full Xbox app experience. It appears that a closer collaboration with Valve, which has a much more open policy regarding consoles, is therefore not impossible.

The tweet praising Steam Deck coincided with the release of the device's first ad on YouTube. The video lasts a minute and shows all the most important features of the hardware.

This is not the first time when Phil Spencer expresses enthusiasm about the devices offered by the competitors. Recently, he praised the DualSense from the PS5 and did not hide that he may implement some solutions of Sony's gamepad to the Xbox controller in the future.

Steam Deck seems to be gaining popularity. Judging by the number of pre-orders, Valve has a big hit.

  1. Steam Deck won't boost performance in desktop mode
  2. "Steam Deck is a full-fledged PC - only portable" - impressions from the press preview
  3. Steam Deck is getting a lot of attention
  4. Steam Deck - official website
  5. Steam Deck in the Steam store
