Ubisoft Apologizes for Terrible Experience in XDefiant; May Extend Beta

The beta-testing of shooter XDefiant, due to end on April 23, may be extended due to a number of problems resulting from the (non)functioning of the game's servers. Ubisoft apologizes.

On April 14 began the next round of closed beta testing of the free-to-play shooter XDefiant. Unfortunately, prevalent technical issues, server crashes and downtime due to maintenance work meant that there was little time left for testing itself.

In response to the numerous problems, the game's developer and executive producer at Ubisoft San Francisco, Mark Rubin, informed that the beta may be extended (originally, testing was to end on April 23). As discussions on the matter are still in progress, we do not know until when the event might last.

Although over the past few days Ubisoft has released several updates for XDefiant, the game - even for a beta - still falls short of standards. Aware of this is the aforementioned developer, who in a series of subsequent tweets apologized to the players for the "terrible experience" during the testing.

XDefiant is heading to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, as well as the Amazon Luna service. Unfortunately, for the moment there is no information related to the exact release date of the game. You can read how to join the beta in a previous post.
