Werewolf: The Apocalypse- Earthblood

The World of Darkness may soon return to grace. It’s an odd, dark RPG that has always had a bad luck with video games. Apart from the cherished Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines, it's mostly been absent in the world of electronic entertainment. Werewolf had it particularly hard. Times have changed, though, and all the issues discussed in Werewolf are now incredibly pressing (ecology, extinction, exploitation). In December 2020 we’re getting an interesting experiment – a text-based game, Heart of the Forest, and in 2021 Cyanide Studio will try to reignite our love of the Moon.

A MESSAGE FROM DEVELOPERS

Werewolf the Apocalypse Earthblood is a beat’em up taking place in the famous World of Darkness universe.

It’s a brutal action game in which the player can turn into a human, wolf and a werewolf to fight a multinational oil company.

While working on a universe that has been living for more than 30 years is essential to keep in mind during the development, the major challenge for the team was to take a new direction in the game genre. This is indeed the first “Beat them up” game developed by Cyanide Studio. Adapting a cult license into a combat-oriented game was a truly engaging but challenging work.

Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood will be a TPP action-RPG. The protagonist, Cahal, will be able to assume three forms: talk to NPCs as a human, sneak around and explore as wolf, and if things go wrong, and he decides the world needs cleansing, he’ll be able to become a ferocious werewolf. The game looks really dynamic and quite exciting, and the subjects that Werewolf focuses on should only add the much-needed relevance. This could be a great introduction to this “ancient system” to younger players, who have never heard of it.
