What are we talking about here?

LawBreakers is the debut FPS game by Boss Key Productions studio, which was founded by the legendary creator of online shooters - Cliff Bleszinski. The gameplay was based on dynamic clashes in a 5 by 5 system on arena maps, which were characterized by different gravitation. Thanks to this solution the skirmishes were intense and full of action. In LawBreakers players assumed the roles of characters from two groups - Law and Breakers - and each character had a different set of skills.

What went wrong?

Everything seems to indicate that the well-known and liked artist, Cliff Bleszinski (UnrealTournament, Gears of War) couldn't quite recognize the trends on the market and walked with his head in the clouds (as he had been doing for years). On the Internet you can still find materials where the creator made it clear that he wants to fight games like Overwatch , and his work will be extremely difficult for Sunday players to master. Unfortunately his vision of conquering the hero shooter market was quickly verified. While gameplay and location projects have been on a high level, LawBreakers has completely relied on creating interesting and memorable characters and adapting the game for new and casual users.

As a result, the game did not have much chance to fight e.g. with Overwatch or PUBG debuting at a similar time (Bleszinski himself claimed that this production is responsible for low sales of his work). For some time the creators did not want to admit their mistakes and make any changes, and eventually they just abandoned the project to work on their next (equally unsuccessful) project - Radical Heights . The failures of both of these productions contributed to the termination of the studio.

WHERE DID LAWBREAKERS WIND UP?

In 2018 the creators of LawBreakers started working on a new project - Radical Heights - and stopped supporting their previous work. Unfortunately, another failure led the developers from Boss Key Productions studio to collapse. The game servers were shut down in September 2018.
