What's WH40K Darktide about?
You know the movie Suicide Squad from Warner Bros. Pictures? If not, simply know that it is about a group of villains from the DC universe who take part in the fight on the side of "the good guys" in exchange for the promise of a significant reduction in their sentences. Darktide is about something similar. Except that the convicts seeking amnesty are characters from the Warhammer 40K universe, rather than Harley Queen, Peacemaker and co. The setting is also different. The game takes place on the planet Atoma Prime, and more specifically, the city of Tartium. The main obstacle barring us from freedom are hordes of warped veterans of the elite Moebian Sixth.
What makes it worth playing?
Games that can be played with friends in co-op are the favorite titles for many players. No wonder – fighting side by side in the name of a common cause provides a lot of emotions and excludes rivalry, which some players aren't interested in. In Darktide , up to four players can grab weapons (you can also play solo). Everyone creates their own (anti)hero and chooses a class for them.
The world of Warhammer 40,000 is an extremely grim and filthy realm. And this atmosphere can be felt in Fatshark's game. They also delivered in other respects. For example, location design is spotless. The same goes for the mechanics of shooting and fighting with melee weapons – you can feel the power of guns, blades and hammers. The audiovisual setting is also excellent. Unfortunately, it didn't go without mishaps. The premiere version was extremely buggy – for example, it often crashed the desktop. Fortunately, this hardly ever happens anymore.
