The Best MMO RPGs to Play in 2023
Massively-online RPGs is much bigger than World of Warcraft! There are quite a few games that are worthy competition for the venerable king, and we'll try to introduce them. Here's a list of the best MMOs!
Black Desert Online
- Business model: buy-to-play
- Platforms: PC, PS4, XOne
Black Desert Online is just a grind fest. Of course, apart from killing mobs in bulk, it offers, for example, breeding horses, sailing ships, or practicing other professions, but this title primarily emphasizes grind. There is no maximum level, only the so-called "soft cap," and that's where the real fun begins. Everything up to this point is a kind of tutorial in which we learn the outline of the plot, the abilities of our class, and the systems and laws that govern the game.
What distinguishes Black Desert Online from other games in this genre? Two elements: graphics and the combat system. The graphics, as per the standards of MMORPGs, were simply astonishing on the day of the release. The game poses pretty formidable system requirements if you want the full details, but it can really be worth it, as it's very pretty indeed. The combat system, in turn, is simply sweet – you will not find such a dynamic gameplay anywhere else. Different classes provide different styles of play, and the animations are so well executed that everyone should be happy mowing down mobs and looting them.
Who's this game for? For people who love to grind endlessly and are not bothered by RNG while upgrading their equipment. Fans of the dynamic and spectacular combat system will also find it exciting.
Is it regularly supported? Yes, updates appear frequently.
