Top 10 MMORPGs in 2021 - The Best MMOs to Play in 2021

MMORPGs aren't just about World of Warcraft alone! There are quite a few games that are worthy competition for the venerable king, and we'll try to introduce them. Here's a list of the best MMOs!

2. World of Warcraft

  1. Business model: pay-to-play
  2. Platform: PC

We have no compelling evidence that World of Warcraft is no longer the king of the MMORPG genre. Nevertheless, I cannot honestly consider this title as "number 1" and recommend it as such. It's still a solid game, offering a lot of content and a tempting world. Shadowlands may not be the best expansion and has not stood the test of time until today, but all is not lost yet. And to be clear it's not that bad; it just should be better.

Despite all the complaints, World of Warcraft is still a game worth recommending. Regardless of the old tab-target combat system, it was possible to maintain a certain level of dynamics, and the skills can be clearly felt. Although the development system seems to be overcomplicated, and the multitude of options can be overwhelming, you can't complain about the amount of stuff to do. It's a pity that it all looks a little bit improvised.

IN A NUTSHELL

Who's this game for? For people who are taking their first steps in the genre and are focused on PvE elements, and are not bothered by a temporary stagnation in new content.

Is it regularly supported? Yes and no there are updates, but they are pretty rare.

Similar games: WildStar, EverQuest II.

Is it pay-to-win? Nope.

There's always Classic

If the current World of Warcraft isn't really up your alley, you can always reach for the Classic version in two and soon, in three editions. We have WoW Classic , WoW Burning Crusade Classic and a seasonal variation on WoW Classic, which is being developed. It will significantly change the original game, speeding up exping and making challenges more difficult. This is actually something that can attract players and refresh the gameplay a bit.
