Crucible

Amazon is a stark example of how even all the money in the world isn't enough to make good games without the proper crew and a sensible plan. The corporation proudly announced grand plans to expand into the electronic entertainment a few years ago, and has been scoring impressive failures ever since. 2019's The Grand Tour Game could still be considered a tiny slip-up – a low-budget exploration of a strong license. But Crucible has undoubtedly shown that the company is stumbling blindly in a fog, and the only thing that allows it to challenge the competition is the size of the wallet.

This game was to be a high-budget TPP network shooter based on a proven genre formula. And it seems to have relied on it a little too much – the game completely failed to stand out from the crowd and generate any interest. Anyway, the game wasn't even really advertised; Twitch was ignored, which is funny because it's owned by Amazon.

As a result, the Crucible's release went virtually unnoticed by the world, and those who decided to play it, quickly became bored, finding nothing original. Just a month after its release, Amazon decided to make an unprecedented move and... announced that the game's release would be rolled back to closed beta status, to be released once again, this time in a more orderly fashion. However, the second first impression was no longer possible – the Crucible servers were permanently shut down in November.
