Tim Shafer, creator of such hits as Grim Fandango, Brutal Legends and the first part of Psychonauts, is in his own league. We had to wait over 16 years for the sequel to the game about the mind controllers, but the hype surrounding the second part clearly shows that the wait was worth it. The adventures of the clever Razputin with paranormal abilities probably delighted not only veterans of the original.
Psychonauts 2 has room for brilliant humor, well-written dialogue, and memorable characters, and that's despite balancing around a difficult problem of mental health issues. The plot focusing on the trouble within the ranks of the title group and the threat of resurrecting a powerful enemy of Maligula is terribly engaging. The developers delivered a well-crafted TPP platformer with great combat, exploration and puzzle-solving mechanics. Levels can be completed in many ways, finding many surprises in the form of mini-games or easter eggs. In Psychonauts 2, every element has been executed masterfully!
