We return for a moment to the times when the Far Cry series was not so terrifyingly huge. This is even more true for the mentioned add-on, which was prepared on a much smaller scale. The available island is half the size of the world from the full-fledged "three." This is indicated by the time needed to complete Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon – about 5 hours. Relatively little time is also needed to clear the entire area of enemies, because 100% of all achievements can be obtained in less than 10 hours.

In Blood Dragon, the gameplay is different than in Far Cry 3. The add-on doesn't have strong survival elements (including crafting), so there's not that much emphasis on exploration. At the same time, there's no shortage of additional activities, as you can hunt for game, liberate camps, or take on side missions – and in this way develop the protagonist. However, all of this is not very extensive and this is most likely one of the reasons why Blood Dragon isn't overwhelming.
