Is this the game that was released two years ago?

State of Decay 2 is an open-world survival simulator created by Undead Labs that was indeed originally released on PC and Xbox One in May 2018. However, until now, PC owners could only play it buy it on Microsoft Store – now, the game will also appear on Steam. On launch day, this production will also be expanded with a big update called the Juggernaut Edition, also available in Gabe Newell's store.

What's new?

The update will expand the core game with a new map (the city of Providence Ridge), a previously unavailable category of heavy weapons, and fresh songs in the soundtrack. Visually, it should be heavily redone, and numerous bugs and errors will be corrected. In a praiseworthy move, the publisher will also make all the game's released DLCs available for free.

OUR EXPECTATIONS

State of Decay 2 is one of those average games I had plenty of fun with. Despite the numerous bugs, the climate of the zombie apocalypse and the uncertainty of coming back from expeditions in one peace made the game an incredible experience. The Steam release seems a bit redundant, since the game has been available on Xbox Game Pass, but it will be nice to have both parts of the series available in one store.
