FS 25 Highlands Fishing: Fishing

The Highlands Fishing Expansion for Farming Simulator 25 introduces a new activity - fishing. Although agriculture remains the core of the gameplay, players can now head to rivers, ponds, or lakes to try their hand at fishing. From this guide, you will learn how to acquire the necessary equipment and understand the mechanics of casting a float and reeling in your catch.

How to get a fishing rod?

You can buy the necessary fishing rod from dealers who sell vehicles. Go to the designated building, and then open the shopping menu. In the Vehicles tab (second from the top), scroll all the way down. Find a category with hand tools there, and among the items you will see a fishing rod. It costs 150 Euros.

The fishing rod will automatically be added to your inventory. To pull it out, press the key marked as Choose a hand tool (on the keyboard, it's 3), and then search for the fishing rod (keys 1 and 2).

How to fish with a rod?

You can fish in almost any body of water such as a river, pond, lake, or sea. The general rule, however, is that the shallower the body of water, the longer you will wait to catch something.

When you are at the shore, press the appropriate button (on PC, this is the left mouse button) to cast the fishing rod. The longer you hold the button, the farther the float will go.

Now, you just need to wait patiently. When a fish bites the bait, press the action button to activate a simple mini-game. Your task will be to balance the hook so that it remains next to the fish icon. You raise the hook by holding the appropriate key. Once you manage to fill the bar on the left side, the fish will be caught.

You can release the caught fish or sell it. Occasionally, you'll also fish out something else, like a tire or an old bucket. For catching 5 different types of trash, you will be rewarded with a humorous achievement and 1,000 Euros.
