Another extensive turn-based strategy developed by 2BY3 Games - a team including a true legend of war-themed strategy games - Gary Grigsby. The player is taken to the World War II period and the fate of the countries involved in it lies in the player's hands. Not only can the player command their armies directly and apply sophisticated strategies or tactics, but also develop new military technologies and bring more and more powerful units into fight. The game was divided into four campaigns that encompass particular stages of the war. Five playable "factions" were included here - Germany, China, Japan, the Soviet Union and the Western Allies. The game features an extensive map comprised of over 350 areas. Similar to the studio's prior games, World at War comes with a large amounts of realism and attention to details. Each of the in-game units was described by up to 14 attributes, most of which can be improved through research and development.

The second official expansion pack for the 2002 role-playing game Neverwinter Nights by BioWare. The plot of Hordes of the Underdark follows the events of the first expansion: while the protagonist rests in Waterdeep, the city is attacked by an army of monsters from the underworld. To save the city, you have to discover why the monsters, up until now hostile only towards each other, teamed up, and destroy their alliance. Unlike Shadows of Underntide, the gameplay was created with high-level characters in mind and the difficulty level is clearly harder. The game introduces six new prestige classes, previously unknown locations, monsters, items, spells, abilities and weapons, as well as the option of having another companion in your party, while the maximum character level has been raised to 30.

EverQuest: The Buried Sea is set in Katta Castrum - an underwater city which is also the grave site of the leader of the Combine Empire, who was poisoned. When the artifact that has prevented the waters from flooding the metropolis looses its power, the inhabitants of Katta Castrum request help from the heroes of Norrath. The expansion pack brings new story-based quests, side missions, additional items, abilities and spells for one's character, but also introduces different changes and improvements into the mechanics. Above all, the players can now establish their own brotherhoods - particular members can talk to one another in separate chat channels, as well as relocate to where the others are. Furthermore, guilds can be equipped with unique banners, serving the role of fast-travel destination points.
