During the game the player is collecting various characters – among them heroes like Batman and Superman as well as their deadly enemies, including Joker and Lex Luthor. In face of a global threat, the heroes and villains have decided to join forces – each of them has unique traits and abilities that are developed as the player progresses through the game. ARKTIKA.1 is a VR science fiction first-person shooter developed by 4A Games, creators of the Metro game series. The game takes place in the 22nd century, a couple of decades into the new ice age. Humans are forced to live in areas near the equator, but the territories in the north and south are yet to be completely abandoned because they are still rich in natural resources. Some people still live in the icebound parts of the planet in order to gather them. We play as a soldier who was hired to protect a colony located in what once was Russia. As we play, we will face bandits, agents hired by our employer’s rivals, and strange creatures that came along with the ice age. Gameplay focuses on combat and its mechanics were designed from scratch to match motion controllers. Thanks to that we can, for example, use two pistols and aim in two different directions.

This is the first installment of a popular investigation-themed game series Danganronpa, recreated specifically for owners of the PlayStation VR sets; the franchise has been developed by Spike Chunsoft - a Japanese team. The player is taken to a mysterious school for the most outstanding students, which is governed by an electric teddybear called Monokuma. At the very beginning, the students find out that they've been imprisoned inside the school building. What is worse however, the only way to get out of here is to murder a schoolmate in a discrete way. In the initial stage of a playthrough, the game resembles a typical school life simulation. When somebody gets murdered however, a difficult investigation begins. The process ends with a trial and the player's goal here is to point to the actual perpetrator flawlessly. Despite the fact that the gameplay formula the series have been popular for was adapted here for the VR technology, Cyber Danganronpa VR remains faithful to the atmosphere of the original game, both in terms of the mechanics and visuals.

Train Sim World: CSX Heavy Haul follows in the same vein, yet is treated as a separate project based on new technology. Unfortunately, this means that the title is not compatible with numerous add-ons released for the Train Simulator series. As always, the gameplay involves controlling various railway engines and traversing numerous railways found all around the world. Moreover, the players can create their own tracks thanks to the included editor. The game contains both single and multiplayer modes. Interestingly enough, the game is powered by Unreal Engine 4, an engine used in titles such as Final Fantasy VII Remake, Days Gone, or Gears of War 4. As a result, the new incarnation of the railway series received multiple fixes, as well as improved graphics and physics.

A science fiction two-dimensional retro shooter by TransHuman Design. In BUTCHER, we assume the role of a cyborg who is programmed to kill humans on sight. The action is presented in a classical side view, and the gameplay is focused on traversing post-apocalyptic locations and eliminating encountered enemies. The protagonist fulfills this goal with several kinds of weapons, including, among several other things, a chainsaw that is a sort of a nod to the creators of Doom. Opponents can also be killed with elements of the environment and various traps, although it must be remembered that the cyborg we control isn’t immune to them, either. The gameplay is characterized by intense brutality and a high difficulty level, drawing inspiration from the style of the 90s era. The game features incredibly atmospheric pixel-art graphics.

Such a combination gave plenty of room to the creators, when it came to writing the scenarios and inventing the virtual weapons. The game focuses mainly on turn-based battles during which, the player can command over twenty different types of units. Contrary to the majority of similar games however, units do not last longer than through one battle here - the game places a special emphasis on winning at all costs. Later on, the player replenishes the casualties. Only the so-called Living Legends are an exception here, for the player can gradually upgrade their statistics alongside progression. Making good use of their skills, the player is capable of tipping the balance in favour of their victory more than once.

Assuming the role of an unspecified character, the player traverses a set of diversified locations, trying to discover the secrets hidden in the area. The protagonist makes use of the L.E.A.F. exoskeleton, which belongs to the latest inventions in technology. However, thanks to the possibilities the exoskeleton offers, the exploration is very dynamic, for the protagonist can access locations an ordinary human being would not be able to reach. One of the most important uses of L.E.A.F. is control over life and death - the player can both deprive organisms of their lives or literally breathe life into them. There is a price to be paid for this ability however, because each death of the protagonist causes the entire valley to decay gradually.

A real-time strategy game distributed by using the free-to-play model. The game was developed by DR Studios and it allows the player to lead a civilization through various stages of evolution, since the Stone Age, through antiquity, medieval and renaissance, to the final years of the 19th century. At first the player assumes control of a simple settlement which then expands its size and adds new buildings. Industrial and military buildings provide access to various upgrades, new technologies and military units. The type and availability of units depends on the current era of the nation controlled by the player. The battles with enemy armies are played in an unusual way – the player lacks direct control of his troops and the outcome mostly depends on the number of units on each side of the conflict. Battle Ages offers both single player and multiplayer modes. The story missions are accompanied by a competitive PvP mode that allows the player to attack other civilizations. The rather nice graphics also help in creating a positive image of the game; however, the limitations caused by the F2P distribution model somewhat disturb that image. Various processes require much time to accomplish and they can be accelerated by using microtransactions.

Arcade, 2D, Puzzle Elements, Platformers, Singleplayer.
A mobile arcade game from Lonely Woof studio, combining features of a two-dimensional platformer and minigolf. EGZ presents an alternative vision of the beginning of life on Earth, according to which the first living organisms (the eponymous Egzs) were born from randomly mixing organic matter and took on the form of colorful jellies on legs. The surroundings turn out to be extremely hostile for them, and how long will those creatures survive is entirely in the players' hands. Their task is to lead the unusual microorganisms through various levels filled with obstacles and traps. The game’s difficulty comes down to correctly shooting our Egz so it will roll and bounce from different surfaces without getting hurt. EGZ stands out due to its highly simplified controls and colorful, animated 2D graphics.

Strategy, Tanks, World War II, Singleplayer, Turn-based.
A stand-alone expansion to 2011’s turn-based strategy game from The Lordz Games Studio. As the title suggests, Panzer Corps: Soviet Corps revolves around military operations conducted by Soviet armored units on the Eastern Front. We take part in the decisive battles of Operation Barbarossa, taking place at the Bialystok-Minsk line and Moscow as well as during the counter-offensive at Stalingrad; we visit Finland, Crimean Peninsula, Romania, and Hungary. The campaign takes place spanning from Murmansk to Crimea, and from Khalkh River to shores of Elba. Gameplay remained mostly the same compared to the basic game, though there are some noteworthy novelties. Those include over 60 airborne and land units, including rare sights like PT-34 tank, GAZ-67B off-road vehicle, Gribovsky G-11 transport glider, or IS-3 heavy tank.

RPG, 2D, jRPG, Manga and Anime, Singleplayer, Turn-based.
A free-to-play mobile jRPG developed by Square Enix's in-house studio led by Jun Fujisawa (the creator of Dragon Quest IX, among other titles). The action of Fortune Tellers Academy takes place in the present day on Earth, although both magic and various kinds of supernatural creatures are real. The player assumes the role of a student that attends the eponymous school for people who are able to foresee the future. The gameplay mechanics do not deviate from most mobile jRPGs – we mostly explore, undertake quests, and fight turn-based battles. Apart from school life simulation, which is the main story arc, and the genre-characteristic character progression system, the game's key element is the ability to predict future events. It influences both the gameplay and the outcomes of subsequent battles.

Deer Hunter 2016 is yet another game in the Deer Hunter series developed by Glu Mobile. Like the previous installments, Deer Hunter 2016 is a first-person hunting game in which the player hunts various animals: bears, crocodiles, lynx, and others. We have to track the prey down before we can shoot it. You have to take under consideration the fact that some animals are meek and easily-frightened, and others will attack you. Because of that, gameplay is not always the same in Deer Hunter 2016. In their search for more trophies, the players travel to different parts of the world, like Alaska or Zimbabwe. During the hunt, you can use a wide range of munitions. The available hunting rifles can be additionally modified with gun sights, magazines, and other useful upgrades. For a mobile game, Deer Hunter 2016 visuals are quite impressive. Various environments are diversified and quite detailed, and the animal models, and their animation, present a high build quality. Deer Hunter 2016 is a free-to-play game with advertisements and optional microtransactions.

A tactical RPG with turn-based fights, developed for mobile devices by Another Place Production studio, which was established by co-creators of the Fable series. Faced with this threat, heroes of the past must dust off their long-unused equipment and arise to protect honor and justice. During the game, we can recruit many different heroes, each possessing individual set of skills that are developed as the game progresses. The gameplay concentrates on battles, with card game features adding variety to them. Thanks to our constantly growing, unique card deck, we gain access to special abilities, which can change the tides of many battles. Arcade, 2D, Indie Games, Platformers, Side-scroll, Singleplayer.
A continuation of a two-dimensional platformer developed by GalaxyTrail. The plot tells a story of a dragon named Merga who begins to wreak havoc on the world after being awoken from a hundred-year-old slumber. The player assumes control of three powerful heroines that traverse the extensive two-dimensional levels and fight against various opponents in order to finally defeat the beast. Freedom Planet 2 offers much more detailed visuals, as well as a number of changes and upgrades, including an energy shield used to counter enemy attacks, or the ability to resurrect the hero after dying. Aside from the above, the game offers an unusual difficulty scaling system – the amount of lives and the heroines’ attack power can be customized by using special crystals found in the course of each level.

Bandai Namco’s production made to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Pac-Man series. Unlike most previous entries in the franchise featuring the ball-eating hero, PAC-Man Bounce is a puzzle game – we don’t directly control the protagonist, instead manipulating the surroundings to help him collect all items needed to pass a level. While Pac-Man moves on a predetermined track, bouncing from walls, there are objects that can be used to change his direction. There's over a hundred stages with increasing difficulty, and we can somewhat compete with others through online rankings, integrated with Facebook. This is complemented by good-looking, colorful and legible visuals. The game is distributed as free-to-play title with microtransactions.

Children of Zodiarcs is a tactical RPG developed by Cardboard Utopia. The game takes place in a fantasy world ruled by the Torian Empire. The empire owes its power to the titular Zodiarcs, ancient machines that were left behind by a long extinct civilization. We play as a band of thieves caught in the act of robbing one of the nobles. This draws the attention of the guards and other criminal groups, like the Cannibal Clan. Gameplay is based on turn-based combat. The key to success lies in taking advantage of the game's environment and the individual skills of our party members. Almost all of our combat actions are controlled by a deck of cards we collect during our adventures. The effects of our actions can be empowered by throwing dice. We can improve those dice through an advanced crafting system. Children of Zodiarcs allows us to develop our characters in many various ways.
