The game, loosely inspired by the setting of Glen Cook's The Black Company series, lets us play the part of a commander of the Army of Light, leading our armies to battle the forces of darkness led by powerful sorcerers, the eponymous Fallen Lords. Unlike most typical real time strategy games, Myth: The Fallen Lords ignores the resource gathering aspect, as the gameplay focuses entirely on skirmishes with enemy troops. Moreover, with each successive victory the surviving warriors gain experience, becoming more powerful and allowing us to win the fight even against a seemingly overwhelming enemy force. An undisputed advantage of the production is its fully three dimensional environment and a physics engine, whereby the outcome of clashes is affected by various external factors, and most objects present on the map can be used in battle.

War Between the Sates take place from 1861 to 1865, and you play as the leader of either the Union or the Confederacy, trying to gain economic and military advantage over your enemy. The gameplay takes place on a 2D map, which you use to plan your moves and order your troops around. You also need to regularly check the statistics regarding your territories or armament, and you defend the taken areas by building fortifications. An important factor is choosing the right generals from about a thousand of authentic historical figures, whose charisma might turn the tide of many a battle. They can strongly influence e.g. initiative, agility and the offensive and defensive abilities of the troops.

The game consists of 12 varied stages, which in turn consist mostly of fighting enemies. In each battle, you can use a team of three characters, such as Vegeta or Pan. Each character uses different abilities and attacks, and gets bonus ones after transforming into a “superwarrior.” Apart from the story mode and the similar to it Standard Mode, Dragon ball GT also includes the following modes: Endurance, Boss Endurance, Robot Swarm and Piccolo. They allow you to play together with another player. The colorful visuals have been inspired by the TV series.

The player takes part in spectacular battles involving the original characters (such as Goku, Vegeta or Piccolo) and player-created fighters. Alongside progression, the player develops the skills of their character, enriching their move set with new kinds of attacks and special abilities.
