In 2023, the Polish studio Eremite Games released the full version of their city builder strategy with roguelike elements, titled Against the Storm. The game achieved great artistic and commercial success, so striking while the iron was hot, the developers prepared its console ports, and also started working on add-ons. The first expansion, called Keepers of the Stone, was released in September 2024. The second DLC is the Nightwatchers described here.

New features in the expansion

Against the Storm: Nightwatchers brings a number of new features, led by a previously unavailable species, biomes, as well as modifiers and events.

Bats

The biggest novelty introduced in the expansion are Bats (available from level 11). They are specialists in metallurgy, ready for sacrifices. They also have access to the Manorial Court, which motivates residents to work by allowing them to exile representatives of selected species.

New biomes

As for the new biomes - we are talking about the Rocky Ravine and Bamboo Flats. This first one is a barren wasteland devoid of trees, which makes obtaining wood dependent on efficient trade in stone and amber. Meanwhile, in the latter, the great Fluffbeak is rampant. It is worth appeasing and taking care of its needs, because in this way we primarily gain the opportunity to use the fertilizer produced by it.

Modifiers and events

World map modifiers are available, led by river terrains (with limited space for construction) and places important to the Ancients, protected by silent guardians.
