If you are a fan of Action RPGs, it’s a great time to be one due to the sheer number of the amazing games in this genre. Path of Exile 1 and 2 are in an upswing, and Last Epoch also doesn’t allow us to forget about it, as Season 3, Beneath Ancient Skies, is scheduled for the end of August. We cannot omit the old king, though, which is obviously Diablo. The fourth instalment of this series also is not slowing down. Season 9, entitled Sins of the Horadrim, has arrived to Diablo 4, which among major adjustments, included small QoL changes. With the game evolving and introducing more and more items, it is hard to keep track of them all. Many people are looking for a specific part of armor, namely Balazan’s Maxlatl, to augment their Spiritborn characters. If you are one of them, you might wonder where to find it and which boss drops this unique set of pants. Here you will learn all you need to know about this piece of gear.
Spiritborn class was launched alongside Vessel of Hatred expansion for Diablo 4 in 2024. In order to keep the gameplay fresh, new gear is added for this character from time to time. In Season 9, one of the most desired armor pieces for this warrior is undoubtedly Balazan’s Maxlatl. This is one of 9 uniques which have been introduced in Sins of the Horadrim. Getting them, however, will require you to triumph over a specific boss.
If you are grinding for the fresh set of pants for your Spiritborn, you will have to hunt either Echo of Varshan or Urivar. Of course, there are specific requirements to face these bosses. The main one is that you must play the game on Torment 1 difficulty or higher, though remember that the higher torment level, the more loot you will get. Moreover, you need special items to open hoards with a treasure – 12 Malignant Heart (Varshan) or 12 Juticator’s Mask (Urivar). If you need a reminder, both of those foes are in locations as follows:

Urivar is especially rich, when it comes to uniques farming in this season, as it not only has a chance to drop Balazan’s Maxlatl, but also Hooves of the Mountain God for Barbarian, Rotting Lightbringer for Druid and Deathmask of Nirmitruq for Rogue. That makes nearly half of all the new unique pieces of gear for this expansion.
